Support for University Innovation & Tech Transfer Offices
Bridging the gap between brilliant lab-bench science and commercial market reality is the core challenge that tech transfer and innovation offices face.
True deep-tech innovation requires years of intense R&D, but translating that complexity into a scalable, VC-backable business model requires a completely different perspective.
I recently had the privilege of collaborating with the team at Uppsala University Innovation to help them navigate this exact bridge for a highly complex project in advanced material science.
The science itself is undoubtedly incredible. So my job was strictly to look at the commercial side of things and see how the technology would be successful in the real world. Beyond other aspects, I checked clinical workflows, economics, and whether the product format needed a strategic pivot to actually scale.
I am incredibly grateful to the innovation managers Frida Henningson Johnson & Ingrid Ajaxon and the researchers at UU Innovation for their trust throughout this project. Working together was an absolute highlight, and their feedback (in the image below) means the world to me. 💓
If you are currently navigating the commercialization roadmap for a complex scientific breakthrough and need a data-driven, thorough market validation to define your next strategic move, I’d love to chat!
